Travelodge presented the research that has found out that on average, men spend 81 minutes a day on personal grooming, including cleansing, shaving and styling hair and while women manage to do the same things just in 75 minutes.
Researchers also counted time that on an average men spend in the shower. It is 23 minutes, compared to 22 minutes for women. Moreover, having regime takes men 14 minutes, while women need 14 minutes for women despite them having to trim legs, armpits and bikini zone.
Men spend a minute longer – 10 minutes – on cleansing, toning and moisturising. It’s not a secret that men want to look their best either. So, choosing an outfit they spent 13 minutes compared to 10 minutes for women.
Office worker Ben Adams, 27, London, agreed: “I’ve got to admit my girlfriend is often the one nagging me to hurry up when we’re going out. She does poke fun at me if I’m agonising over what to wear or still doing my hair.”
The study also cleared up that an average British person does not have a clue regarding the true value of their toiletry bag.
Moreover, when asked, the average adult estimated their wash bag with contents in £52.23 when in fact the bag of essentials is worth nearly three times more at £156.69.
A spokeswoman for Travelodge spoke about a rise in the number of toiletry bags being left behind in their 487 hotels.
Travelodge is a huge hotel chain around the world. Its hotels are situated in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Republic of Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.
In the last year, hotel stuff has spent hundreds of hours uniting 10,000 wash bags with their owners.
There was a strange case when a customer paid more than £100 for a courier to pick up her toiletry bag, which she had left behind in a London hotel – the designer wash bag contained nearly £1,000 worth of toiletry items.
The research carried out for Travelodge is not the first one that indicates delicate men’s habits.
The previous researches have shown that stronger sex leaves women behind when speaking about tittle-tattling.
Studies have showed that men spend an average 76 minutes a day gossiping with their friends or colleagues, compared to just 52 minutes for women.
The list of favorite topics includes the antics of drunken friends, old school friends, and the most attractive girl at work.
Rumors about possible relationships in the office or the boss, promotions, sex and salaries are also likely to cause a debate
One of the researchers revealed: “It is commonly believed that women are the ones who love to spread rumours, and gossip about their friends behind their backs.”
“But this poll proves that men aren’t as bad as women, they’re worse! Men just lovea bit of scandal, and will do anything they can to be centre of attention with their colleagues and peers. At the end of the day, hot gossip spices up what would otherwise be another boring day at the office.”
Women also love to talk about news, but on the agenda are soap operas and celebrities.
