Summer is almost here at last and we all want that super-model beach look. From fancy luxury bikinis to hair treatments and body contouring, here are tips to get the guys to drool! Remember, playing up the positives is key. Beauty exudes from within, we are all ashamed of certain body parts that would keep us from wearing a bathing suit, but there’s nothing sexier than your big smile and your unshaken confidence
2. Start working out: exercise is good for your health, mood, and body. Getting in shape will boost your confidence and make you feel good about yourself. If you don't have time to hit the gym, exercise at home, work out infront of the TV, dance to your favorite Arabic song, or just do 100 sit-ups everyday.
3. SPF is your best friend: remember; you want to look good without damaging your skin. SPF products should be applied all year round, not only when the sun is out. There’s nothing worse than sun damaged skin that’s flaky and red. Even your lips need to be protected from the sun, so using a lip balm with SPF is great for your lips.
4. Keep it simple: less is more when it comes to makeup. Wearing a full face of makeup is the last thing you want to do to impress the hotties. Try using minimal makeup that will bring out your eyes and face without looking too made up. Waterproof Kohl, mascara, and tinted moisturizer will help you get that look while avoiding the meltdown.
6. Hydrate: inside and out. Drink plenty of water and moisturize twice daily using soft lotions or body butter to get soft, supple skin that’s worth showing off. Try Body Shop’s Body Butter, or Aveda Replenishing Body Moisturizer.
7. Avoid the Bloat: being bloated is not only uncomfortable and mood changing, but also not sexy in a swim suit. Avoid processed foods, dairy products, carbs, and salts, before heading to the beach. Chewing gum can also bloat you.
8. Accessorize: buy accessories that would go with your fancy swim suit. From big bangles, to toe rings, to hoop earrings, make sure your accessories wont rust over the summer. Don't over-accessorize though, especially if your swim suit is embellished or fringed.
9. Go Fluorescent: this summer’s trend- Fluorescent nails and lips. Hot pink and orange are your safest bet. Apply the lip balm first, and then waterproof lipstick.
10. Protect your hair: even if you’ve had your hair treated with keratin or perm products, protect it before and after you swim. Leave in conditioner or serums will avoid hair damage caused by the pool and salty beach water. After you’re done swimming, wash your hair immediately with just water and apply your conditioner/ serum.
1. Start working on your tan: there’s nothing better than looking all tanned and sculpted. Whether it’s a spray tan or sun bathing, get a tan now! Try to hit the beach mid-week when no one is around, use tanning oil/ lotion with a low SPF, and give your skin some color. Also don't forget to sparkle by using body shimmer with light reflectors. These will get you to glow in the sun. Don't overdo it with glittery products, and stick to the simple shimmery ones. Try Jergens- Soft Shimmer, Michael Kors leg shine, or Nars Body Glow.
